Sorry about the lack of posts for all of those who follow my blog. I've had a lot of things going on recently. Luckily, a few of those things are done with, so now i can focus on my blog and drawing again. Right now I am working on the Warlord series, but my computer has decided to be a bit temperamental, so the process it going rather slowly. Here are some sketches and concepts that i am finally posting.
A cover concept for my story. I am wondering what they are looking at. That hand on the ground means that there is something interesting beyond the frame.
Here is my happy beach picture. I just wanted to draw a happy scene. I usually focus on darker and more serious subject matter and i was getting a little tired of it. So i wanted to do something different and a little bit uplifting. What is more uplifting than the beach? I am pretty happy about how this sketch turned out and i really want to peruse it into completion.I don't have too much to say about this one. It is just a concept of a character created a while back. I felt like i should give her some spotlight.

I love the happy beach scene, Dan!!! So happy!!!!!!
Awesome post, They are all great!! I hope you don't mind that I point out just two small things.
With the girl holding the gun, the perspective is great, and so is the pose and anatomy. The only thing that I think could be better is the way the gun is pointing. It is completely horizontal, I think that even with maybe just 5 degrees turned another way it would be more dynamic. Remember...DIAGONALS ARE GREAT!
And the last photo, I think her knee caps are too low. That's easily fixable though.
Great post, Dan!! I really hope you color the beach scene!! :)
The girl holding the gun was my biggest problem with that picture. I wanted to redraw her because there are several things wrong with her that i want to fix. Now to talk about the knee caps. Those are actually part of the shin guard, but i can see what you mean. they do look like knee pads. i did draw some bits indicating the knees just above them though, and they where going to be more apparent when i got to coloring them, but i never got around to it.
