A day ago i had some spare time on my hands, so i decided to make a holiday picture. It could have been the Christmas spirit but i was surprised how fast i got this done.The only other thing i want to do with this is change the text. I feel that there might be a more appropriate font out there

Something Different

It been a while. I finally got that larfe scanner i was wishing for. Now i can scan my larger images and work on them on my computer. So far, i have a large pile of inks that still need to be scanned and colored. I have a good list of images to work on during this winter. Anyways, this is the first of many posts of inks.

A while back i was stuck in a horrible rut. To help get rid of it I decided to draw something that I usually dont draw, light hearted, funny, dare i say CUTE pictures. I enjoyed it so much that a story quickly formed around it. It is about two dragons (by the way, in this story dragons are actually small lizard creatures that only grow up to around a foot tall and live in a big city underground). One dragons is intelligent, creative, and a bit clingy. The other one is a bit lazy, mellow, and has and endless appetite. The two somehow get stranded above ground and are found by two women, one being a caterer and the other a small time lawyer. Since the lazy dragon likes food, he follows the caterer around, while the other dragon follows the lawyer around because of her intellect and cunning. Thats pretty much all i have right now, but if i run into another rut, i will probably peruse this story again.

Thunderbird

A while back I had a little idea, and it started with these two images.

These images tell the beginning ant the end of a simple story. I plan on making a series of short comics dealing with this story. Each one will be a different version of each of the others. Each version will star the same characters, but with different personalities and different situations, which will reflect in the path and actions they take through the story. This will mainly be apparent in the main character since the story is following him. With each progressive version, the overall story will be explained more and more.

So this is what will be taking up most of my time for a while. I m also going to post some of the other sketches I have been working on pretty soon. I just need to get my pesky scanner working again

New Logo Sketches And Color Study

Here are some sketches for a possible new logo. As you can see from these sketches, no new news for people who know me, I have a fascination with ducks. A while back, a friend noticed that ducks have made themselves a reoccurring object in my drawings and said that I should have a duck for my logo. So that is what I am working towards with these.
I am leaning towards number three. As you can tell, my heart was never into number four. I wanted to have a crossed sword thing going on behind the duck, but it looks like the poor creature has been run through.

Here is a quick color study for the princess picture. Looking at it now, I might change the cape from green to red. Doing this would help separate her from the background a little more. I also need to find another place to put some orange to compete with the fox

Princess Inking

Alright, this is it. The inking is done. I am going to start working on a color study, than move onto the actual coloring. I have been wanting to rework my logo for a while now, so I might put off the coloring for just a little bit so I can work on that.

I was able to get a few hours off of work because of all the rain. Instead of catching up on sleep, I decided that my time would be better off spent inking one of the many pictures that I have stockpiled waiting to be inked. Im about half way through, and I think its going pretty well.

His dirty Little Secret

So this is a summery of the story. A woman discovers that her boyfriend is a collector of unusual books. She sneaks into his study one night and sees a tattered old book on top of his desk. She opens it and begins to skim through it, unbeknown to her that the book is quite possessed.

Sorry about the lack of posts. Work has been getting quite hectic this week.


I had some free time from work and was able to mess around with the Tusk album cover. Hopefully it is a little closer to done. I need to do some more work on the ice text, probobly improve the the chill air coming off of it. By the way, that stick man is a result of boredom.

Over the weekend I visited my local art store and splurged on some inks and nice pens. Here are a few of the fast inks I did over that glorious weekend
I am quite interested in the one with the robot. Maybe I will rework it and put some time into it

Tusks Color Study

Here is the color study. The sky used to be a deep red, but I feel that the blue works so much better. I am going to dull down that punk dude off to the side as well as the other pink dude behind the central character.

Pretty Pretty Princes Sketch

So, like the beach picture before, I wanted to draw something that I usually dont draw. I thiought for a while, than I saw an ad for a disney movie. Than I thought, what are Disney movies notorious for? Princesses!!! So I drew a princes picture. To make it more interesting I added in an Elkifant, part elk part elephant. Half way thgough I got a little bored with this happy dappy picture, so I sketched an ominus dinosaur footprint in the snow. I have not decided if that will go into the final.

TUSKS!!!!!!!

So, a while back, a friend and I came up with a ULTRA SPEED DEATH BLACK METAL POWER BAND called TUSKS. The idea was started when she asked me to photoshop tusks onto her, and it later evolved into the most metal thing in the world. Here is a sketch of the album cover. It goes strait to the point, which is.......TUSKS. I cant wait to start working on it.

So, i decided to take a break from the warlord trio and started on the colors for my happy beach picture. It was a hard adjustment to go from dark and broody to "happy happy lets go fly a kite."
I have decided to give this picture a rest for a day or so and return to it with some fresh eyes. My priority from there is to work on the object in the background because i feel that they might be competing with the figures in the foreground a little too much.
